Fees
Virginia Personal Injury Attorney Fees and Expenses
We explain fee agreements to each client in detail. When you come to our office, we will explain to you that we handle most cases on a contingent fee agreement, which means we get our fee from your eventual settlement or judgment Therefore, our clients do not have to worry about how they will pay attorney fees. Instead, our clients can focus on their recovery and treatment. This also means that in most personal injury cases we do not charge a fee if there is no recovery. However, the law requires that the client remain ultimately responsible for out-of-pocket expenses. If your case does not settle, it may be necessary to file and lawsuit and attend a trial. Trials for even the average car accident case usually generate expenses of $4,000 to $6,000. Medical malpractice and other complex cases are considerably more expensive. We will make every effort to work out a reasonable agreement regarding expenses.
